October 5th Wood Blocking and November 9th Pinterest Party!

I am going to cover 2 events on this post. Please read all the way through.

Oct 5th Wood Blocking Party!
This will be an open house starting at 10am.  I plan on being home all day.
(Anyone up for cocktails Saturday night? Guys and Girls welcome for that!)

I have had a few RSVP's for this event. I was hoping for more than the 4 that I have! I am unpacking boxes to share all my stuff and I'd like to be able to free up the boxes and not repack all my things. Please let me know if you are coming. If you do plan on it I'd like to urge you to get your wood blocks as soon as possible. I have had mine for a week and still don't know what I'm planning on decorating with! I'm so excited that I really want to do everything! I am willing to join you in the shopping trip if you don't want to go alone. There are TONS of inspirational ideas at The Wood Connection. I want to make everything there! It's located in Murray so it should be easy to get to for everyone. You don't have to go to The Wood Connection. You can go to Hobby Lobby, Lowes, Home Depot etc.. I just want you to go soon so you aren't going the day of and getting overwhelmed with options.

For fun I jumped on Pinterest for more ideas. Here are some pictures.

On to the next event:

November 9th PINTEREST PARTY

Who isn't obsessed with Pinterest!? Even my husband has an account. But lets be honest- how many things have you pinned and thought "One day I'd like to make that!" and never have time? My answer is "Daily. Yep! Daily" So... we decided to have a Pinterest Party! This will give us all time and an excuse to do what we have been longing to do.

Here is how it works: We have an open house in Bountiful (If you RSVP I will let you know where to go- I really don't like posting where we are all gathering on such a public forum.) We haven't quite decided on the time yet, but I'm thinking lunch time-dinner time.

You log on to Pinterest.
You shop your own boards for things you love! (Or feel free to create a new board!)
You pick a food dish that you'd like to try to make (Or you have already made, but found the recipe on Pinterest)
You make your dish (or drink) to pass at the party.
You pick a craft you want to do. (I will post some inspiration below)
You bring your supplies to complete your craft.
You walk in with your dish, craft supplies and a few hours to hang out, eat and create!

Sound like something you want to do? Let me know.

We will be providing some basic supplies like hot glue, but since the list of idea is endless make sure you grab what you need or contact me if you think your supply is a basic and I will let you know if it's already covered. If you have some basics, like craft paper or beads, or maybe a bag of sugar or flour, and would like to share please let me know so I can pass along the information to others who may need your supply.  Think outside the box too- like do you have a Cricut machine or paint brushes? How about a those picture frames and old Tshirts you were going to donate?

BONUS! I will be providing a free craft if you RSVP (I can't buy your supplies if I don't know you are coming) It'll be a cute one that is easy to create so don't stress!

I'm pretty excited for this event! It's just in time to make some Christmas gifts for neighbors and friends!

Here are some ideas: If you 'd like more ideas hop over to my Pinterest board "Pinterest Party Ideas" and check out everything I have pinned in preparation for this party. I will add you to the board if you'd like. Melony- I'm already adding you :)

Want to try photography!? The location we picked has plenty of places for poses. I will even bring my camera if you ask! My sister will be there to help with tips and tricks too!

Ok so I'm not the best at sewing, but I have a sewing machine I can bring- Again, if you ask. I know the basics and I'm sure someone else there can help too!

I will probably be creating some kind of home decoration since we will be moving shortly after this party. I'm thinking of making some curtains... HMM... I'm going to have to learn! Or maybe a painting for the bathroom. Did you know my sister knows how to paint- AMAZINGLY! (She hasn't volunteered to help, but I'm sure if you asked she'd love to!)

Don't know how to make a recipe? Want to learn- My mom is a pretty good cook and we will have a kitchen at the location! This means you can cover two birds, one stone. Your craft is the meal you are going to share. Just make sure you have all the things you need. If you need an appliance give me a call ASAP so I don't pack what I have.

That gets me thinking... What if I want to do a meal planning idea- you know, like the month of freezer meals... I might not be doing my curtains after all.

I'm getting too excited! I think it's time to start pinning! Oh and don't forget to RSVP for the free craft!

I will see you all October 5th and again November 9th! Then we will take a small break from seeing each other and do a photo challenge for the holidays.

Can't wait!

Wood Blocking Party! Oct 5th Open House

I have been waiting and waiting for the right time to have this particular Ladies Day! The holidays are coming quickly and I want to complete this project before the holidays are over.

Patrice is going to be our hostess for October. Like I said, I've been itchin to have this party! We will be doing wood blocking! You will need to come prepared with supplies (I can pick them up for you if you tell me what you want, since I will need to get my own as well. I know Patrice can pick up supplies too!) We will be going to The Wood Connection in Murray for our supplies. Click here to see what they have and the cutest ideas! This will also give you an idea of what fun this will be!

If you want to go to the store to see more with us lets plan a date! I would love to go in a group and get cute ideas before I buy! Lets shoot for this week in case we need to order something you just have to have. I'm thinking of doing the word "home" and having the "o" interchangeable for each season- Like a flower for spring, a beach ball for summer, a pumpkin for fall, a snowflake for winter. What do you think?

Here are some examples of what Patrice has done:

There are also shapes you can buy. My sister made my daughter 3 owls that are adorable! Ok so these owls are not the ones my sister made (Personally I think hers are cuter) These are the display at the store. Can you see that price!? $2.50!! Such a great deal!

 Supplies:
I have a lot of scrapbook paper, I also have modpodge (although Clear Wood Glue will work better with paper. Modpodge will smear the color and has a tendency to lift the paper from the wood.)
I also have various colors of paint to share. I have a few paint brushes too. I also have butcher paper to work on. I have scrapbooking supplies like ribbon, flowers etc. that I'm willing to share as well. However- mine is all a mixture and my not be what you are looking for. Here is a list of supplies needed. You can decide what you trust me with and what you want for your specific design. And don't worry! Patrice is going to teach us how do to this. Even if you feel you aren't crafty she will show you how to make the perfect piece!

The Whole List:
Wood (obviously)
Clear Wood Glue
Scrapbook Paper
Paint (cheap little bottles) or wood stain
Paint Brushes, Foam paint brushes
Any accessories you want on your wood: Glitter (Patrice said get glitter paper instead- it works much easier), ribbon, feathers, flowers, jewels etc
Butcher paper for easier clean up
Glue gun with glue (I have 2 glue guns)

Now the problem for me is finding the boxes in which all of these items are packed... Hmm... Let the digging begin! Man I hate moving!

Details:
We will be doing this at my house on October 5th, Open house, but remember this will take awhile so come prepared to complete your project. (Mine is going to take most of the day so I will have all the supplies out while I'm working away.) I will open my doors at 10am and we will work until we are done. Come ready! I will provide small snacks, but if you can please bring a side dish (snack) to share and whatever you are drinking.

In Short:
October 5th
10am- 5ish?
My house
Bring your craft supplies
Bring a dish to pass
BYODrinks
Come with enough time to complete your project

Can't Wait! As always I would appreciate RSVPs.

Dinner plans! September 13th at 7pm

Dinner plans have been made. Remember this is for guys and gals. Friday the 13th- yep this coming Friday. I will be providing dinner and dessert. We will be meeting at 7pm in north salt lake. RSVP is important this time because I'm buying food for each guest. Please let me know how many in your group are coming by Thursday morning. I can't wait to see everyone! (Contact me for the exact address)
Also- I have a hostess for Ladies day in October, I just need a place to go. It'll be an all day wood blocking party! Right before the holidays so we can all make holiday decorations (words) for the house! I will post more about it after I get a place and a date set. Please let me know if you have somewhere for us to go.

See you Friday!

Back on the Band Wagon!

Ah! August is over. Bittersweet! We had a lot of fun, but man was it a busy month! I owe you pictures from the photo challenge. We will get to that in a moment.

First I want to talk about plans for September. I would like to do a Pampered Chef Dinner Party with all the ladies AND the men! I'm currently trying to sell my house so the date is up in the air for now. I would, however, like to know who would like to attend. Anyone? Here is how it works. You come over, a pampered chef representative will cook you dinner while showing you how to do it yourself. You get to sit back, chat, drink and eat. There is even dessert! It is a presentation to show you cool stuff you can buy for your kitchen, but there is no pressure to buy anything. It's a pretty fun night with free dinner and dessert! Just sayin'

I'm still working on a host for a girls day for October. Any volunteers? Any ideas?

November 9th we are having a Pinterest Party! This will be a ladies only event! Open house- times TBD.  Each person is asked to bring a food from Pinterest to share as well as a craft to make while you are there. If you don't have much time to stay, stop by and say hello anyway. We just want to see all of your beautiful faces before the holidays get crazy! We will have a craft table set up and cocktails ready!

December we will be doing another photo challenge since its such a busy month- I had so much fun with the last one! I hope all of you did too! I will start thinking of ideas for each day. If you have anything you want on the list please let me know between now and then.

Ok- Here are a few pictures from the challenge. I was going to do every day, but that is A LOT to choose from and post. You can always visit ladiesallday on instagram to see the whole challenge. I just took a screenshot so you could see who posted, what day and the description if any. I know others played along. I'm sorry if I missed you! I noticed that some pictures did not tag ladiesallday correctly so I don't have them on my page. Thanks to everyone who played along!

Photo Challenge! Starts 7.19.13

Have you ever wanted to do a Photo Challenge just for fun!? That's what we are doing for the next 30 days! No pressure to take amazing pictures. (I'm just going to use my trusty phone camera) Mostly what we are looking for here is your interpretation of the description for each day. Get creative and have some fun! Post your pictures to Instagram and "add" Ladies All Day to the picture as well as putting @ladiesallday, #LadiesAllDay in the comment section. The photo of the day that has the most likes at the end of the challenge will be posted here for a final collage! (On the note: Don't forget to like your favorite picture of the day on Instagram. You can do this by going to the Ladies All Day Profile and clicking on the "Photos of Ladies All Day" icon. If you added Ladies All Day correctly when you loaded your picture it will show up here. Remind others to go look and like your pictures too!)

This should keep us in touch and busy during our off months from Ladies Night.  If you don't have Instagram and still want to play email me your picture and I will post it to the Ladies All Day Instagram Gallery for you.

But! Before you see the list I have something else to talk about. I'm going to host a dinner party with Pampered Chef! I had so much fun at Amber's Party! I felt like I was in the audience of a food show, but actually got to eat the food AND have dessert! Amazing Dessert! Even if you don't buy anything it's worth coming for dinner. THIS WILL BE FOR GUYS AND GIRLS- No kids please. We can also do a ladies only night another night if you'd like. Let me know? I will give more detail when it gets closer, but I do need to know what date works best for everyone.

Da-Du-Da Duuuunnnnnn- The list for our Photo Challenge!!
Thank you Britt for helping me come up with this list and for the idea of everyone joining in!!

*BTW I took the photo in the background while 4wheeling at "The B" a few months ago. :)

Pampered Chef Party THIS FRIDAY @ 630pm

Did you know that Amber is having a Pampered Chef party at her NEW house on Friday at 6:30pm!?
She would like to invite everyone to come see her new house and enjoy good food! She doesn't want you to feel pressured to buy anything, she just wants to have everyone over for a fun night. However, if you can't make it and want to order something she can place the order with hers.

If you want to go and don't know where Amber lives please let me know and I will pass along the contact information for the party and Amber.

If you don't know what this is click here. It's basically a "Tupperware" party hosted by Pampered Chef.  It'll be fun to learn what those kitchen tools are really used for!
Guess what else you can get on their website!! RECIPES- My favorite!

I'll be there! Will you? (If you are lucky enough to have a hubby that does the cookin' or a mom, send them over!)

Let me know so Amber can plan food.

Thanks!

Pictures, A Fun Craft and a Few Recipes!! Oh And...

My sweet sister was in town and I didn't take time to post while she was visiting. I should have because I know you are all waiting impatiently to see our wonderful pictures from the Color Me Rad 5k!!

We seriously had so much fun! If you have the opportunity to sign up for one I would recommend it!
Thank you to all the ladies who participated!  We need to talk about what to do next. Any ideas would be appreciated! I know Patrice wants to do woodblocks! I would like to do cooking/grilling. July is out since I know we all have amazing plans for the holidays. What do you think about August? I have a lot then too. September?

On to pictures. Keep looking after pictures for a 4th of July Craft and TWO new Crock Pot recipes to try!

Most of these were taken through a plastic bag. I apologize for the quality of some... Also, some of my favorites wouldn't load onto my computer correctly. If you want more let me know. Although there are plenty here to prove we had an awesome time!

A Fun 4th Of July Craft! ~Thanks to the local library for the idea! :)

Items Needed:
Scissors
Glue of some sort
Printed Star on Paper
Popsicle Stick
12" Red, White and Blue Ribbon

It's pretty self explanatory really... Cut out the star, glue it on to the top of the popsicle stick. Tie ribbon around the popsicle stick. Wave it in the air like you just don't care! (This is perfect for my kiddo since she isn't old enough to have sparklers)

And TWO New Crock Pot Recipes!

I have these both memorized because I love them so much!

1- Hawaiian Chicken
Frozen Chicken Breasts (As many as you need according to who you are feeding. I usually do 2 and it feeds my family 2 full meals and lunch for 1 of us)
1 Can Crushed Pineapple
1 Can Black Beans (Rinsed and drained)
*16 oz HOT Salsa (You will want the spice, but if you think you don't at least do Mild)
1 Can Corn
Mix all items in crock pot and cook on hi for at least 4 hours or low for at least 8 hours.
I like to eat this like soup, but my family likes it on tortillas with melted cheese on top and lettuce.

*Salsa- I use a product called 30 Second Salsa with 2 cans of Diced Green Chile tomatoes instead of a jar of salsa. You can find that product here- It's worth every last penny! I use this stuff on everything! I gave it to all of my mom's for Mother's Day last year and they love it too! My step mom just showed me up on a chicken taco salad recipe and I asked what she did to make the chicken taste so good and she said she just placed the chicken in the crock pot and covered it with this 30 second salsa and cooked it. It was AMAZING!

2- The 4 C's
(Cream Cheese Chicken Chili)
Frozen Chicken Breasts
1 Can Beans of your choice (Rinsed and Drained) I like Pinto or Kidney beans
2 Cans Green Chile or Chipotle Diced Tomatoes
1 Can Corn
1 Package Ranch Mix
1 Package Chili Mix

8oz Cream Cheese

Add all items, except the cream cheese, to the crock pot and stir together on top of frozen chicken. Place the Cream Cheese on top of the pile and cook on low for 8-10 hours or hi for 4-5 hours. Stir in Cream Cheese and pull apart the chicken. Serve.

I know you are all dying to try these two meals! I am anxious to know what you think about them. Please let me know?

There is also 1 more thing I wanted to share- I know, I know, this is a lot of reading BUT I'm proud of me (and my hubby) for a completed project in our yard. We worked so hard, just the 2 of us and no baby sitter- in fact, we even had 2 kids over that weren't ours! Anyway, it feels good to have it done and know that we were such a great team together doing it. He didn't expect me to help, but there was no way he was doing that much work alone.

Check out our 12 hour day:

We finished the night off with a few drinks and a fire. My husband has since built some pallet furniture which includes 2 chairs and a bar. He's pretty amazing! BTW- Do you see all that grass? My husband used the sod cutter and I rolled it all up and moved it twice! I also helped him unload and rake out more than a few tons, literal tons, of road base and gravel to get the patio done. All while taking care of 3 kids under the age of 4. (Ben helped with them too- it was far less stress for me to shovel gravel than try to tame 3 kids! I have since decided that we will only have 1 more child. Haha!)
