I was talking to my sister yesterday about priorities and how we spend our time and how that shows what our priorities really are. I've been reflecting on 2015, well, because I was making my family yearbook like I've done for the past 8 or 9 years. (I have a link to a free book. If you are interested it is at the bottom of this post.) As I'm looking back at what my family did and what my favorite times outside of family were I can honestly say it's being at and hosting these events! Spending time with you lovely ladies and doing something together... it really sticks with me. And lets be honest! Making and keeping friends is a tough thing to do once you are out of school and have other priorities like kids, bills, homes, yards... all of it. But this year I want to make sure that I keep on top of my household stuff AND taking care of my relationships, because next year when I sit down to reflect on what I enjoyed doing best in 2016 I'm not going to think about cleaning my house or paying my bills. I'm going to be remembering all the fun stuff we did with friends and family.
I missed the Favorite Things Dinner in February- I will make it up this year, I promise! My priorities have misaligned somewhere, but I'm getting back on track!
1st- When you RSVP yes or no to this event I'd like to know your answer to these questions...
1: What do you spend most of your time doing?
My answer is preparing and doing home school for Oaks and cleaning my house
2: What would you like to spend your time doing?
I would like to spend more time creating or painting
3: Is there an appropriate way to make that happen with a ladies day?
Absolutely! That's why I do these! Woodblicking anyone!? Cocktails and Canvas! Yes please! But I would also like to expand my horizons, my hobbies and my friends list!
Thank you in advance for actually answering my questions! It's just one more way I can tailor these events to include everyone and her interests. Not everyone likes to paint or craft! Some people like to shop! (March will be good for that!)
Also, feel free to pass along this webpage to other ladies you think would want to get out of the house and expand, share and work on their skills and make new friends. I've met and maintained a lot of friendships by doing this because, believe it or not, not everyone who comes knows who I am. They just come. And age does not matter. I've had 8 year olds and 60 year olds and we all have plenty to talk about!
Okay. On to the MARCH 2016 EVENT!
This is one I'm just showing up to. Starting the year easy. I will create a facebook event with a link to the actual event. Please RSVP on my event so I know to look for you when we are there. Feel free to invite as many girlfriends as possible. This is not only easy for me to "plan", but it is a good opener to new friends to join and meet everyone. Plus its kid friendly!
