Cocktails and Canvas Pictures

Alright Ladies! I have some info along with pictures from the last Ladies Day.

Info 1st:

Amber is hosting a class in June- She is having a mother/daughter or BFF day and offering 2 paintings for $25. (Or you can just do one for $15) You don't have to have a partner- you can do both for yourself (Probably what I will do because I like both of the paintings!) Link over to her page for more information.

If you can't make it to her house in June why not throw a party in your home!? She is offering classes in home now. You only need a few people to join you. Contact her for benefits of hosting your own party. And if you need help planning it please let me know (I really like making invitations and setting up the details. Secretly I wish I was a party planner!)
Contact Amber at thelaziestartist@outlook.com to set up your party!
Have you shared her info on social media for your 1/2 price classes!? Remember to tag her when you do.

I LOVE how different each painting is! This is one of my favorite parties! Thank you to everyone who came out! I can't wait to see all of you in April for Pedicures and Color Me Mine!
Talk to you soon,

WE WANT YOU!!

This is going to take a minute to read- but I'm pretty passionate about having all you ladies show up- so hang in there and read all the way through. Pretty Please?

I'm calling out all of you that want to come, but haven't yet!

I've been hearing some real fears, concerns and excuses, around town- usually from outspoken husbands that want YOU to get out and have fun with the ladies! Even if that means he's stuck at home with the kids. (Just kidding- he just wants to hang out with all the other dads- even if that means cracking one open outside and watching the kids on their "play date" while you get some much needed time away.)

Ready to read why you should come!?
Debunking all your fears and "reasons" for staying away for so long:

1st- I'm awesome! And real honest so you know that when I say I'm awesome- it's nothing but the truth! :)

Your significant other wants you to come. Think I'm lying? Having other ladies to relate to and vent to creates peace at home. And that means your favorite person doesn't have to hear your crazy lady drama!

For real though-
It's a great way to meet new friends. We have ladies coming from all over the state! (I can usually hook up carpools when events are in Grantsville.)
One reason I hear you aren't coning is either you don't know where Grantsville is or that it's too far away. Just think of how far away you'll be from cleaning your kitchen! Unless you live in Grantsville.... If that's the case, just don't think about your dirty kitchen. And not all events are hosted in my home. This month one is in Murray and the other is in Draper.

April is a perfect time to start! I know you have cabin fever like me! Plus, we have 2 events- Pedicures and crafts- you don't have the excuse of "I'm not crafty" or "I don't like my feet touched" because this month you have an option and I know you ladies don't hate both of those things!

I've heard some of you are afraid to come because you don't know anyone.
Most months I'm meeting someone new. And I love that! If you're afraid to come alone, bring someone. But I am pretty sure all of you reading this know me- at least through passing. I'd like to get to know each and every one of you because having friends is awesome!

You feel dumb coming because you've never come before, even though you've been invited a billion times.
Just come. Each month that comes and goes is another month to make you feel dumb for not coming. Gotta start somewhere, right!? And trust me you are not the only one invited that has never come. You're not alone.

You don't know how to do what we are doing- or you've never done it before- or you suck at it!
Some months I am learning something new and I'm nervous too.. Please don't be intimidated coming. It's all about learning something different and seeing new faces. There will always be a teacher here to show you and understands if you are needy it just means they need to help a little more. You will learn new skills- even if that means you're learning the taste of a new kind of wine or which end of the paintbrush makes those perfect tiny circles.

You feel obligated to host an event.
Nope! Not true! We would love for you to share your talent, but do not expect you to host or even talk. If you want to put your headphones in and paint- just for a night away from the regular routine... I'm all for that! There are no expectations. Just. Show. Up.

Money is another reason I hear several times a year as an excuse for not coming.
I strive to keep these events to $20 or less and most months there are options you can make to keep the cost down. Sometimes not, and I understand. Ever heard of Dave Ramsey? He's my financial adviser and I'm sure he would advise my budget to include ladies night! But for an example of different costs- March was a set price of $20 plus bringing a side dish to pass. No options unless you wanted to spend more for a bigger canvas. February was $15 plus a dish to pass. Set price. November is always a Pinterest party- you could literally show up with crayons and a coloring book- or just your dish to pass. We have wood blocking events too. I'm pretty sure my sister and her friend came last year and used my husbands scraps of wood. I don't think they spent any money besides a dish to pass. Please be mindful of money, but don't  use it as an excuse not to come. How much would your husband pay for your sanity!!? (Or his!)

No babysitter! Probably the most common reason.
I will admit- this is really hard for me sometimes too! My husband works a lot- weekends and a lot of late nights. I try very hard to include kiddos when I can. My kid loves to have friends over! There are times when kids are not allowed- like cocktails and canvas. Sometimes we just need a break from the kids too. And these events are a huge stress reliever for me! This month we have one option for no kids and another for kids to come. Again- not a reason I will accept as a excuse this month!

I think I covered the most common fears, concerns and excuses. What is your reason for not coming? Contact me please? Mrsleslieday@gmail.com I really do care why you haven't come! And I really do value your feedback!
When you email me let me know which event you really want to attend! We have a few months not scheduled too- if you want to learn something new, give me an idea and I will try to find a teacher.

I know we have the following events coming up-
April- We have 2- pedicures and Color Me Mine (painting pottery)
May- Planter boxes. (Learning to properly plant pots and planter boxes) And a few of us are thinking about having a movie night to see Pitch Perfect 2 together as well.
June- Wood Blocking (a favorite and going to happen 2x this year! Anything wood goes! See my older posts
July- Unscheduled. Maybe we can plan a family BBQ or park day? Like a getting to know more about you party?
August and September are unscheduled as well. I have a friend interested in doing a vinyl class for us sometime though.

Talk to you soon, right!?
Yes! Yes, is the correct answer!

The Votes Are In!

I have had an overwhelming amount of votes come in for BOTH pedicure and Color Me Mine. I was also notified that the pedicure would have been scheduled Easter weekend and to do it a different time, so we decided to do it on a weeknight at about 7 PM, I'm just waiting for a date that works.  If there is a day of the week that works better for you please let me know as soon as possible. I will try to accommodate as many people as possible. Remember that this spa is adults only- you will need a sitter for your kids.

Color Me Mine is still up in the air as far as a date goes. It will have to be earlier in the day so that we have plenty of time to paint. Let me know what day of the week works best for you asap.

I'm so excited to see all of you!

Text, call, email, comment or Facebook message.
Talk to you all soon!

Vote! Vote! Vote!

Ok ladies- April is not planned as of now. I really need a pedicure! I also have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket! So let's vote- Pedicures or Color Me Mine? I can do pedicures on April 4th (That's my only weekend that I have a sitter) or Color Me Mine on any time  except the 18th-20th (kids welcome!)

Also, I have a ladies day planned for May- just waiting on the hostess to give me a date and details. It will have to do with planter boxes- learning to plant a pot.

So send me a text, email, Facebook message or leave a comment here. Pedicures April 4th or Color Me Mine (send me your available date) or both?
Ready. Set. Go!

-L

Pedicures will be at Cameo College in Murray. We need to get them scheduled all at once so I will need RSVP's as soon as possible. http://cameocollege.com/nail_services.html
Color Me Mine will be in Draper. They are also open on Sunday's so that's an option. I can do weekdays/nights too for this one. Just let me know. http://draper.colormemine.com

Cocktails and Canvas Original Painting!

I just got the painting sample from Amber! Get your wheels turning on how to make this fit in your home, choosing colors etc. I'm ready to do this and get creative! I love the crown! I may make it crooked or put the owl on a branch? Hmm... How do you want to personalize yours?

Thanks for doing all the work Amber! Now I need for sure RSVP's so Amber can get the whole class ready. Please let me know no later than March 7th.

If you don't have my contact info please leave a comment below and I will get in touch with you with all the location details.

Thanks!

So like a true artist, her work is never done. Amber sent me the bottom picture to share and before I could really even post, she sent me a follow up with changes to the original. I thought I'd share both so you can see the variation just in her version. Can you see the differences? The top picture she added jewels to the crown and some black paint on the edges. And I just noticed she added white polka dots to the wings and tummy.  Crazy how much those details changed the entire art piece! I'm excited to see how everyone interprets this painting in their own way. (BTW the owl is paper, not paint...)
